As Britney Spears and Lady Gaga gear up to release new albums, there's another pop heavyweight who may offer them some friendly competition: Beyoncé. Details surrounding the singer's next album remain scarce, but according to a few of the project's collaborators, Bey is almost finished recording the follow-up to 2008's I Am ... Sasha Fierce and has managed to hit the studio with an extensive list of producers.

After gushing about her high hopes for working with Beyoncé, Australian songstress Sia revealed that she told B's behind-the-scenes team that she wanted to lend a creative hand for the new album. "So I just said to all the producers, writers, everyone, help me make this happen, and then Diplo e-mailed me and said, 'where are you in the world right now? would you be interested in flying to New York? I'm writing with Beyoncé,' and I was like, 'Yesss!' " the singer told MTV Australia.

Despite Diplo's offer, Sia said she was unable to fly out because of schedule conflicts, but is in the process of pitching songs to Beyoncé. When asked if her submissions were for Beyoncé's forthcoming LP, Sia said, "Well, there's only one song left for this album, so I probably won't get on this album, but hopefully the next one. That's my dream, that's my goal."

Sia isn't the only collaborator that has suggested Beyoncé is close to wrapping up studio sessions for the project. Sleigh Bells have confirmed working with the singer, but are weary on whether their work with the songstress will make the final cut. Speaking with NME.com, guitarist Derek Miller admitted, "I actually have no idea if the collaboration will ever be released."

While Miller remained tight-lipped on details regarding the song (or songs?), the Sleigh Bells bandmate confessed that the collabo is just one of her many musical partnerships, saying, "Beyoncé works with whoever she wants to work with, probably 30 or 40 producers. It's a totally different world from what I'm used to. So for me, it's just exciting to hear something that I worked on but I can't really say any more than that."

Sia and the Sleigh Bells join a long list of other collaborators who have been tapped to work on Beyoncé's new album, including Ne-Yo, S1, Jim Jonsin, Sean "The Pen" Garrett, The-Dream and Tricky Stewart.

Justin Bieber's 17th Birthday Bash: What Would You Plan?

Event planners imagine what kind of party they'd throw the superstar.

Justin Bieber is about to reach another milestone in his life: On Tuesday (March 1), the teen star turns 17. Already, he's had hit albums and singles, a world tour and a successful concert documentary, so he definitely has a reason to celebrate. As he gears up for the fun, MTV News asked some party planners to weigh in on what kind of bash they would throw for the pop superstar.

"I think, knowing that he's such a fan of purple, I would create a purple Willy Wonka fantasy party," said Bruce Starr, who works at BMF Media Group in New York. "I think we'd do it in L.A. on a studio lot and have the Oompa Loompas in purple. We'd recreate this extravagant fantasy world."

Starr said he'd have a female DJ on the decks, but also would have some musical surprises up his sleeve. "We'd have a surprise stage, and without telling him, work with his friends and have them do surprise sets for him," he explained. "The party would have just friends and family, about 250 or 300 or 400 people tops — really intimate."

There would even be a fan element to the party. "I think we would do huge screens for all the people who couldn't be there. We'd have surprise music videos from them, and throughout the candy land, there'd be screens with tweets from his fans," he added.

Taylor Choi, event consultant for Gansevoort Hotel Group, explained that she'd have the perfect Big Apple hot spot for the party. "For him, I would do something more fun and exciting," she mused. "I would do more like bowling or video games, some sort of 3-D type party with more technology-type stuff for him."

So, what types of social media would that include? "A social-media kiosk where people can take photos," she explained. "I would do karaoke and do something more fun and interactive. I would have a fun DJ and a fun live performance because a performance would be fun."

As for the venue, Choi said: "If he was in New York, I would throw it in the Gansevoort Park Avenue where we could do a 3-D installation. We can do a performance over the pool. We would deck it out for him with three floors. I'd serve cupcakes, hot dogs, burgers.

"I would have like 200 of his closest friends," she added. "I would definitely do 3-D stuff. He'd have fun with a small group of friends: private, intimate, nothing too crazy. Have his friends perform a song for him."

While it seems these planners would throw elaborate bashes for the star, Bieber recently revealed that he's hoping for a low-key affair.

"I only have, like, four days, so I'm just going to relax, because I start my world tour starting on [March 4] — so just going to mentally prepare and just relax," Bieber explained. "No birthday bash. ... Hopefully my grandparents will be out here, and I'll be able to spend time, a little bit, with them. My grandma makes the best cheesecake — cherry cheesecake. She made that for my 13th birthday."

Quentin Tarantino's Spaghetti Western: What We Know So Far

Details are beginning to fall in place for director's 'Inglourious Basterds' follow-up.

For years, Quentin Tarantino has been talking about the kooky idea of making a spaghetti western-esque film that explores American slavery. Now multiple reports suggest he might be moving forward with a project in a similar vein.

Nothing's confirmed yet, of course, but all this chatter does seem to indicate that Tarantino's next production following the Oscar-winning, $300 million-grossing success of 2009's "Inglourious Basterds" will, in fact, be a spaghetti western. There have been, until now, numerous projects the filmmaker was said to be considering, though he has long stated a desire to explore the western genre.

"I've been wanting to do that for a long time," Tarantino told us late in '09 of the slavery pic. "That's definitely in the garden, for lack of a better metaphor. That is definitely one of my roses."

So what do we know so far? Back in 2007, Tarantino spoke at length to Britain's Telegraph about that project, calling it the Southern equivalent of a western. "I want to do movies that deal with America's horrible past with slavery and stuff but do them like spaghetti westerns, not like big issue movies," he said. "I want to do them like they're genre films, but they deal with everything that America has never dealt with because it's ashamed of it, and other countries don't really deal with because they don't feel they have the right to."

Tarantino, instead, chose to explore an alt-history take on World War II with "Basterds." When MTV News caught up with him late last year, he confessed that he still hadn't committed to his next project, though he did say that rumors of taking on an adaptation of "The Shadow" were untrue. Only in recent days has talk of a spaghetti western, devoid of a connection to slavery, picked up steam.

Deadline reported that Tarantino said he has completed the script for the new movie and that the writing, unlike his work on "Basterds" and "Kill Bill," came together quite quickly. Meanwhile, the actor Franco Nero gave an Italian-language interview at the Los Angeles Italia festival in which he said that talent has already been coalescing around the project, including himself, Keith Carradine and Treat Williams.

"It's a movie that contains humor, lots of action, but also a great plot," Nero said.

Ain't It Cool News picked up on the news and added some intriguing details — most intriguingly that Christoph Waltz, who won an Oscar for his turn as a cold-blooded Nazi in "Basterds," would also star in the flick. According to AICN, the script is not based on any existing material but is an original script and will potentially begin production in Spain and Italy later this year.

Will John Stamos Replace Charlie Sheen on 'Two and a Half Men'?

Will John Stamos Replace Charlie Sheen on 'Two and a Half Men'?

Is Two and a Half Men looking for Charlie Sheen's replacement?

Last week John Stamos shot down rumors that he had been approached by CBS to replace Sheen on the sitcom, but sources tell E! News that there was some real talk about it happening this past weekend.

According to an insider, CBS boss Les Moonves chatted up Stamos on Saturday night at an industry party, and the topic of Two and a Half Men did come up.

"They were at the bar talking, and Les asked John if he'd be interested in replacing Charlie," says the source. "It wouldn't be to play Charlie's character, but they talked more about introducing a new character."

But on Friday, Stamos twittered, "Contrary to the rumors, I am not replacing Charlie Sheen on 'Two and a Half Men.' However, Martin Sheen has asked me to be his son."

When Sheen got wind of the possible casting of Stamos, he (of course!) had some choice words.

Calling the rumors a "tragic joke," Sheen told TMZ: "If they do that, then they deserve their failures and the follies."
