Are The Arcade Fire Prepping A New Album?

Rep for the band calls a listing in the U.K.'s Music Week 'just a rumor.'

In the current issue of U.K. trade mag Music Week, between listings for All Time Low's Dirty Work album and Asa's Beautiful Imperfection, there exists a line that reads, simply: "Arcade Fire 'TBC.' "

It's not exactly clear what it's referring to, but that hardly matters to the band's fans. Given that it's published alongside other upcoming albums, they've taken it to mean just one thing: Sometime this year, the Arcade Fire are putting out an album.

But will it be an entirely new album? A live disc? A collection of outtakes from their Grammy-nominated, chart-topping The Suburbs? Well, as it turns out, none of that may even matter. Because according to a rep for the band, at the moment, all that talk is speculative, at best.

"[It's] just a rumor," the spokesperson wrote in an e-mail to MTV News. "Nothing [is] confirmed yet."

A rep for Music Week could not be reached for comment about the listing.

So while there's nothing to report about a new album (at least not yet), Arcade Fire fanatics aren't exactly hurting for headlines these days. Earlier this week, the band were announced as headliners at both the upcoming Coachella and New Orleans Jazz & Heritage festivals, and they're also on tap to perform at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards on February 13, alongside Eminem, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. They'll also head into the show up for three awards, including Album of the Year.

Are you hoping the Arcade Fire already have a new album on the way? Let us know in the comments!

Chris Cornell Filling In For Robert Plant On Led Zeppelin Tour? That's News To Him

'I have not been approached to fill in for Robert Plant on the Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be,' singer says.

Former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell has spoken out for the first time about rumors that he's been asked to fill in for Robert Plant on a proposed Led Zeppelin reunion tour. The trek would feature original guitarist Jimmy Page, original bassist John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham taking over on drums for his late father, John Bonham.

Cornell has been mentioned — along with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar, White Stripes mastermind Jack White and Alter Bridge's Myles Kennedy — as a potential Plant fill-in. Plant has already said that he wouldn't take part in the tour.

"I have not been approached so far to fill in for Robert Plant on the upcoming Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be," Cornell told MTV News. "I've heard that from about 200 people now, and it might be one of those situations where it's just an online rumor or it might be true. But if you see anyone from Led Zeppelin around, let me know. I think I should actually fill in for Jimmy Page on the Robert Plant/ Alison Krauss tour."

Cornell's denial comes just a day after Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford confirmed reports that frontman Steven Tyler recently met with Zeppelin for an impromptu jam session. "They did it for fun," Whitford said during an appearance on the syndicated show "Todd N Tyler Radio Empire." "I actually think Jimmy wanted Steven to come over and play a little bit because I think he was trying to light a fire under Robert."

Rumors of a Zeppelin reunion tour have abounded since the iconic band played a single reunion set last year at London's O2 Arena. Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider added fuel to the fire last month when he revealed that the group was thinking of touring, with or without Plant.

According to Snider, the rest of the band told Plant, " 'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go. Here's a gazillion dollars on the table. If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid [Myles Kennedy].' "

"And he can sing the sh-- out of Zeppelin," Snider added. "They're going to hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, 'OK,' and step in."

In a recent interview, Jones told BBC Radio Devon that a new singer was being sought to take over for Plant. "We are trying out a couple of singers," he said. "We want to do it. It's sounding great, and we want to get on and get out there."

But Jones insists that he, Page and Bonham aren't interested in finding a Plant clone. "It's got to be right," he said. "There's no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don't want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be onboard."

Of course, even if Zeppelin were to approach him, Cornell might be too busy to take over vocals for the band. His upcoming Timbaland-produced solo LP, Scream, will be released within the next few months. Cornell told MTV News last month that some of his fans might consider Scream something of a departure, but he doesn't see it that way.

"It makes me happy that there's this perception that I have a group of fans that I'm now sort of throwing a curve at and what their reaction will be," he said. "But I've been in this situation so many times already. When I put out [1999's] Euphoria Morning, my main goal was to create an album that sounded like nothing I'd done in Soundgarden, and I did that. I also had that with Temple of the Dog, where I showed up with songs that weren't necessarily riff-based. And then, of course, the pairing of me and members of Rage Against the Machine had everyone sort of speculating about what that would sound like.

"It feels like I've done this so many times that when it's presented to me as being a departure, I feel that's a misconception," he added. "I feel like that's my theme at this point."

Ke$ha Reflects On 'Really Intense' Breakout Year

She was overlooked by the Grammys, but Ke$ha dominated radio and the charts in 2010 with her Auto-Tuned electro-pop and a distinctive "garbage chic" style that had everybody talking.

In the latest issue of Billboard, the party-girl pop star opens up about her whirlwind rise to the top, saying she has no regrets about her breakthrough year.

"Are you kidding me? I pretty much feel like I've been reborn into this completely different existence," the singer told the magazine when asked how life had changed for her. "My entire life has become making music and playing shows, and I love it. I've accepted the fact that my fans are now my family, and I won't be having boyfriends. I'll just be having a really amazing relationship with the radio."

The pop star said that although she "wasn't clueless" about what fame might bring, it far exceeded her expectations. "It's just not at all what I expected it to be like," she said. "It's really intense, more intense than I ever thought it would be."

Recalling paparazzi chasing her as she made her arrival at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, Ke$ha said, "I was having an anxiety attack, like, 'I just wrote some pop songs, man!' "

Ke$ha, who graces the mag's cover wearing a crown as she pops a bottle of champagne, also talked about her big debut single, saying, "Sometimes I need to remind myself that 'Tik Tok' only went to #1 in January, because it kind of feels like it was 17 years ago."

The mag went on to ask if "Tik Tok" was the best way to introduced herself to the public. "I don't know. We didn't really know which song to come out with first," Ke$ha said. "It was kind of a debate, because I didn't initially come out as a rapper; I've always been a singer. So having my first single classified as kind of a rap song felt bizarre to me. But now it's become something of a trademark, and it's becoming more legitimate. I've talked to some of my favorite rap artists over the past year — artists who are idols — and they've given me mad props."

What was your favorite Ke$ha moment of 2010? Tell us in the comments!

Snooki and Joy Behar Reach a Truce

Snooki and Joy Behar Reach a Truce

Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi has retracted her claws after going after talk show host Joy Behar. Snooki and her Jersey Shore costar Jenni ‘J-Woww’ Farley made their own 8-minute video scathingly parodying The View co-host. But now, the outspoken TV personas have reached a truce, NY Daily News reports.

Behar apparently got on Snooki’s bad side when she pointed out the 23-year-old’s drunken antics on Twitter, questioning whether the reality star and writer’s claims of "(waking) up in a garbage can once a month" were "any way for a celebrated novelist to behave?"

Snooki then impersonated Behar, brashly mimicking the host’s animosity towards her, saying, "(Snooki) is disgusting. I am Joy, and I’m on the freakin’ View and I own everything in the world… And when I say Snooki’s a whore, she’s a whore."

But on a Monday appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, Snooki apologized for the video and explained it was a joke. "Everyone took it too seriously, so I took the video down," she said. "(J-Woww and I) feel bad about it… I’m a big fan of The View and Barbara Walters. So, you know, I’m sorry."

Behar played a clip of Snooki’s apology on The View, and Barbara Walters admitted it was "sweet." Behar thanked the Jersey Shore star for her apology. "I found (it) quite sobering," she said. "Although maybe that’s not the right word… I don’t care if they made fun of me. It’s fine. I enjoyed that sketch they did… I thought it was very funny."
