In its first two seasons, MTV's "Jersey Shore" introduced America to countless new words and expressions that have made a lasting impression on pop culture, including "GTL," "grenades" and "T-shirt time."

Now, with the addition of castmember Deena Nicole Cortese, fans of the show can expect a brand-new round of crazy terminology and phrases. The 23-year-old recently sat down with MTV News and promised to bring "a whole bunch of vocabulary" to the show this season.

In Thursday night's episode, Deena called Sammi Sweetheart a "backpack" because of how she always clings to Ronnie. She told MTV News "backpack" can also be used to describe "one of the ... guys that follow me around the club and stuff."

As she was a bit slap-happy on her first night with the cast, Deena used herself as an example of a "slaptard," which she defined as a "slappy" girl. "I was a complete slaptard the first night," she said. "I was, like, the biggest slaptard ever."

Deena also dished on one of the harsher terms she has added to the extensive "Jersey Shore" lexicon. "This is horrible," she admitted, "but you know when you, like, meet a girl but her friend's hotter? You wanna get in with the hotter girl, so you kind of befriend the not-so-pretty girl?" Deena would consider the not-so-pretty girl in this scenario to be a "stepstool."

"It's horrible," she giggled. "But, I mean, it's real life. It happens in real life."

Don't miss "Jersey Shore," airing Thursday nights at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.

Beyonce Laughs Off Heat Commercial Controversy

'It upped my sales,' she tells 'The View' after her perfume ad was banned in the U.K.

Beyoncé caused a bit of controversy last week with her red-hot commercial for her latest fragrance, Heat. The ad was banned from daytime rotation in the U.K. thanks to its steamy images of Beyoncé. When the singer and her mom, Tina Knowles, stopped by "The View" on Monday (November 22), she seemed happy about the outcome.

"I think it was very good, because a lot of people went and watched the commercial," she said. "And it upped my sales."

Beyoncé not only had a good-natured laugh about the response to her ad, but she also poked fun at her ever-present wind machine, explaining why she seems to always have one on hand during her performances. "Where's the wind coming from? It started out only [to stay cool], and then it kind of created this effect with my hair," she explained. "You can only imagine, the show is two and a half hours. It's really, really warm onstage."

While B didn't dish about life with her hubby, Jay-Z, she did reveal that she's a bit messy at home, despite being so together when she hits the red carpet. "Well, I think because I work really hard," she said. "When I'm home, I don't want to think about it."

Beyoncé seemed a bit more comfortable when it came to giving a shout-out to Jay-Z for making an appearance on her concert special, "I Am ... World Tour," which premieres on Thursday night at 9:30 p.m. ET on ABC. She recounted how Hova surprised the audience by joining her onstage in Rio de Janeiro. "We talked about it; we knew he was in town," she said. "Kanye, as well. He was in town that night."

Lady Gaga Impresses Audience At Vegas Trade Show

'It was interesting because she was chill; she was doing her thing,' one insider says of Gaga's appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show.

When Lady Gaga visited the Consumer Electronics Show on Thursday to unveil her latest creation with Polaroid, one insider said the megastar — who was appearing at CES for the second consecutive year — unsurprisingly acted like a consummate professional.

"The vibe was perfectly chill. We were supposed to go live at 3:30, but she didn't come out until 4:05. She pulled an Axl Rose," joked Victor Borachuk, director of the Ustream webcast that covered the event. "There was a huge crowd. Everyone was waiting and waiting and waiting. Nobody really got upset that she was late. Everybody sat patiently and waited, which was interesting."

Gaga, who was on hand to introduce new Polaroid sunglasses that come equipped with cameras imbedded in the lenses, was all business, Borachuk furthered. Despite a lounge area backstage, the singer generally kept to herself before and after her public appearance. "It was interesting because she was chill; she was doing her thing," he explained. "It wasn't diva-ish. She was very laid back."

Aside from the lack of diva antics, Borachuk said he was most surprised by how much Gaga actually knew about the product and that didn't treat it like some vanity project. "She was actually into the technology. I remember thinking, 'Lady Gaga's into the Polaroid cameras,' " he recalled. "Backstage it was cool. There was a full bar, but she was in her room the whole time until like five minutes before she went out. When she was done, she peaced out. It was a cool event. Last year I heard she didn't make that big of an appearance, but this year she showed up and did her thing."

Gaga herself admitted in a sit-down about the event that she wanted to make sure that the products she put out with the company fit in perfectly with her Little Monsters' lifestyles. "It's been a really long and exciting and grueling and inspiring process with Polaroid, and we've really done everything we can to improve the instant camera to make it new and make it compatible with digital era," she explained. "I wanted to create products that I knew they would love to use."

Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' Single To Get 'Glee' Treatment

Guest star Gwyneth Paltrow's character will also hook up romantically with Mr. Schuester.

Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" single isn't available for public consumption yet but the track is already slated to be covered by the McKinley High crooners on "Glee."

Co-creator Ryan Murphy told Entertainment Weekly that the song will be featured in an episode set to air in either March or April. The storyline will focus on gay bully Karofsky, played by Max Adler, who is in the closet. Murphy said he chose to revamp the track because of its inspirational vibe; a theme he plans to thread throughout the episode.

"I love that that song is [an] anthem," Murphy said. "This show is by nature optimistic and I think a character like Karofsky could turn to booze or pills or alcohol and kill themselves or do something dark. But I also love Max and I love that character and I sorta want that character to have a happy ending. So I don't really know what that's going to be, but I do know we're going to do a whole episode that's about that song."

The episode will likely be bookended by the release of Gaga's single in February and the drop date of her Born This Way album, which is set to hit shelves in May.

Gleeks will not only get more Gaga, but Gwyneth Paltrow will also return as saucy substitute teacher Holly Holliday, and this time she gets to heat things up with faculty heartthrob Mr. Schuester.

"Gwyneth is coming back for two episodes. She's coming back specifically to date Will [Matthew Morrison]," Murphy confirmed. "Those two have become really good friends in real life and had really good chemistry. She's coming back as a sex education teacher. Gwyneth and I are emailing, talking every week: What are we gonna sing? We're trying to do something fantastic. So she'll be [in episodes] 15 and 16. She comes back [to film] in January and she's with us for three and a half weeks I think."
